This is a great mask for beginners. It protects the top of the head, which most beginners are scared to get hit there. I would still wear a winter hat or a hat of some sort to cover the back of your head/neck as this mask only covers the top of your head with the headshield. On the other hand, this mask fogs up really badly. When I first started paintballing I had this mask and after a good 10 minutes maximum my mask would be so fogged up I couldn't see someone who was my teammate talking to me from 10 feet away. Needless to say, I had to call myself out several times due to the fogging of the mask. If you don't want to catch yourself fogging up during game, then buy a thermal lense mask, otherwise, this is a good buy for beginners and those who are looking for protection on the top of the head.
